Hindu philosophy and cosmology

yesterday i saw a programme on strings theory of the universe on discovery channel. every string is smallest part which is not visible and has tremendous amount of energy.that reminds me our Hindu philosophy of Atman-which is indestructible,unseen, no life no death ,eternal energy, which records and carries the data of karma, in the next birth. is strings behave in the same way ?
